Imprisoned and beat (hmhn fulakizwn kai derwn). Periphrastic imperfect active of fulakizw (LXX and late Koin‚, here alone in the N.T.) and derw (old verb to skin, to beat as in Matthew 21:35 which see).

In every synagogue (kata tav sunagogav). Up and down (kata) in the synagogues.
