2 Timothy 2:9

Wherein (en w). In my gospel.

I suffer hardship (kakopaqw). "I suffer evil." Old compound (kakon, pasxw), elsewhere in N.T., II Timothy 4:5; James 5:13.

Unto bonds (mexri desmwn). "Up to bonds." A common experience with Paul (II Corinthians 11:23; Philippians 1:7, Philippians 1:13-14; Colossians 4:18).

As a malefactor (wv kakourgov), old compound (kakon, ergw, doer of evil), in N.T. only here and Luke 23:32 ff. (of the robbers). One of the charges made against Paul.

Is not bound (ou dedetai). Perfect passive indicative of dew, to bind. Old verb. See I Corinthians 7:27, I Corinthians 7:39; Romans 7:2. I am bound with a chain, but no fetters are on the word of God (Pauline phrase; I Thessalonians 2:13; I Corinthians 14:36; II Corinthians 2:17; Philippians 1:14; Titus 2:5).
