James 5:6 Ye have condemned [and] killed the just. The murder of the Just One, Jesus, was the crowning sin of Israel which brought upon them destruction. It was the rich and influential, not the poor, who sought his death. [And] he doth not resist you. Compare Isaiah 53:7.
