1 John 2:24

As for you (umeiv). Emphatic proleptic position before the relative o and subject of hkousate, a familiar idiom in John 8:45; John 10:29, etc. Here for emphatic contrast with the antichrists. See I John 1:1 for ap arxhv (from the beginning).

Let abide in you (en umin menetw). Present active imperative of menw, to remain. Do not be carried away by the new-fangled Gnostic teaching.
