Numbers 16:28
Compare all
26 And he spoke to the congregation, saying, a“Depart now from the tents of these wicked men! Touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins.”
27 So they got away from around the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram; and Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the door of their tents, with their wives, their sons, and their little achildren.
28 And Moses said: a“By this you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them bof my own will.
29 If these men die naturally like all men, or if they are avisited by the common fate of all men, then the Lord has not sent me.
30 But if the Lord creates aa new thing, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they bgo down alive into the pit, then you will understand that these men have rejected the Lord.”
31 aNow it came to pass, as he finished speaking all these words, that the ground split apart under them,
32 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and aall the men with Korah, with all their goods.

Numbers 16:28-30

Did you notice how he replied to them? "It's not me," Moses said, "who did all these things and who came up with all these things." Moses is saying, "Look. God was the One who told me to do everything that I have done. Your rebellion is not against me, but against God."

He puts it in very plain language. "If they die supernaturally, you will know I was right. If they don't and they die naturally in their beds, then you'll know they were right."

Numbers 16:27-33

Well, God very effectively answered that. He was still working through Moses. But God is showing a pattern that He will follow. These men, Dathan, Korah, and Abiram, revealed their lack of faith.
