Job 13:26
Compare all
24 aWhy do You hide Your face,
And bregard me as Your enemy?
25 aWill You frighten a leaf driven to and fro?
And will You pursue dry stubble?
26 For You write bitter things against me,
And amake me inherit the iniquities of my youth.
27 aYou1 put my feet in the stocks,
And watch closely all my paths.
You set a limit for the2 soles of my feet.
28 “Man1 decays like a rotten thing,
Like a garment that is moth-eaten.

Job 13:26

Thou writest bitter things against me - The indictment is filled with bitter or grievous charges, which, if proved, would bring me to bitter punishment.

The iniquities of my youth - The Levities and indiscretions of my youth I acknowledge; but is this a ground on which to form charges against a man the integrity of whose life is unimpeachable?
