Job 27:21
Compare all
19 The rich man will lie down,
1But not be gathered up;
He opens his eyes,
And he is ano more.
20 aTerrors overtake him like a flood;
A tempest steals him away in the night.
21 The east wind carries him away, and he is gone;
It sweeps him out of his place.
22 It hurls against him and does not aspare;
He flees desperately from its1 power.
23 Men shall clap their hands at him,
And shall hiss him out of his place.

Job 27:21

East - wind - Some terrible judgment, fitly compared to the east - wind, which in those parts was most vehement, and pernicious. Carrieth him - Out of his palace wherein he expected to dwell forever; whence he shall be carried either by an enemy, or by death.
