Psalms 31:19

17 ^aDo not let me be ashamed, O Lord, for I have called upon You;
Let the wicked be ashamed;
^bLet them be silent in the grave.

18 ^aLet the lying lips be put to silence,
Which ^bspeak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

19 ^aOh, how great is Your goodness,
Which You have laid up for those who fear You,
Which You have prepared for those who trust in You
In the presence of the sons of men!

20 ^aYou shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence
From the plots of man;
^bYou shall keep them secretly in a¹ pavilion
From the strife of tongues.

21 Blessed be the Lord,
For ^aHe has shown me His marvelous kindness in a¹ strong city!

22 For I said in my haste,
“I am cut off from before Your eyes”;
Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications
When I cried out to You.

What Does Psalms 31:19 Mean?

Psalm 31:19-20

These promises to those who fear God are invaluable. In persecution, those who fear Him are aware of His faithful presence. Though He cannot be seen, He is there, watching over His loved ones to spare them being overwhelmed.
