Psalms 119:105
Compare all
103 aHow sweet are Your words to my taste,
Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 Through Your precepts I get understanding;
Therefore I hate every false way.

ן Nun

105 aYour word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.
106 aI have sworn and confirmed
That I will keep Your righteous judgments.
107 I am afflicted very much;
Revive me, O Lord, according to Your word.
108 Accept, I pray, athe freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord,
And teach me Your judgments.
109 aMy life is continually1 in my hand,
Yet I do not forget Your law.
110 aThe wicked have laid a snare for me,
Yet I have not strayed from Your precepts.
111 aYour testimonies I have taken as a1 heritage forever,
For they are the rejoicing of my heart.
112 I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes
Forever, to the very end.

113 I hate the1 double-minded,
But I love Your law.
114 aYou are my hiding place and my shield;
I hope in Your word.

Psalms 119:105

Thy word is a lamp - This is illustrated thus by Solomon, Proverbs 6:23 : "The commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life." God' s word is a candle which may be held in the hand to give us light in every dark place and chamber; and it is a general light shining upon all his works, and upon all our ways.
