Where are your wise men?
Let them tell you now,
And let them know what the Lord of hosts has bpurposed against Egypt.
aThe princes of Noph are deceived;
They have also1 deluded Egypt,

And they have caused Egypt to err in all her work,

Jehovah hath mingled a spirit of perverseness in the midst of her; and they have caused Egypt to go astray in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.

The Lord has mingled a spirit of perverseness, error, {and} confusion within her; [her leaders] have caused Egypt to stagger in all her doings, as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.
