Exodus 11:9
Compare all
7 aBut against none of the children of Israel bshall a dog move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that the Lord does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.’
8 And aall these your servants shall come down to me and bow down to me, saying, ‘Get out, and all the people who follow you!’ After that I will go out.” bThen he went out from Pharaoh in great anger.
9 But the Lord said to Moses, a“Pharaoh will not heed you, so that bMy wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.”
10 So Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh; aand the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go out of his land.

Exodus

EXODUS, a "going forth," derives its name from its being occupied principally with a relation of the departure of the Israelites from Egypt, and the incidents that immediately preceded as well as followed that memorable migration. Its authorship by Moses is distinctly asserted by himself (Exodus 24:4), as well as by our Lord (Mark 12:26; Luke 20:37). Besides, the thorough knowledge it exhibits of the institutions and usages of the ancient Egyptians and the minute geographical details of the journey to Sinai, establish in the clearest manner the authenticity of this book.
