Exodus 12:21
Compare all
19 For aseven days no leaven shall be found in your houses, since whoever eats what is leavened, that same person shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger or a native of the land.
20 You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwellings you shall eat unleavened bread.’ ”
21 Then aMoses called for all the belders of Israel and said to them, c“Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb.
22 aAnd you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and bstrike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning.
23 aFor the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the bblood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and cnot allow dthe destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.

Exodus 12:21

Now we have to narrow it down even further. Did Moses get instruction from God and then blow the silver trumpets, and everybody gathered around? No, that is not the way that it worked because we find...

God spoke to Moses. Moses called for the elders. The elders then went back to their tribes, and they spoke to the people. So we have to begin to allow some time for the word to get out to the elders, and then for the elders to get back to Moses. Next, Moses had to communicate to the elders. The elders then had to go back to their tribes, and communicate it to all the families in the tribe. That was their communication system. (And they used it frequently, throughout the entirety of the Exodus.)

Do you see what that says? After killing the lamb, dashing its blood upon the doorposts and then roasting the lamb, the Israelites were specifically warned to remain in their houses until morning. This sets up a physical impossibility for the 15th Passover folks. One cannot remain in one's house on the 14th and flee Egypt on exactly the same day.

We of course have read these scriptures a number of times. They are a clear message of what our responsibility is once we have been placed within the household of God: We are to stay within it in service to the Body.
