And see who has created these things,
Who brings out their host by number;
aHe calls them all by name,
By the greatness of His might
And the strength of His power;
Not one is missing.
And speak, O Israel:
“My way is hidden from the Lord,
And my just claim is passed over by my God”?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
aHis understanding is unsearchable.

Isaiah 40:27-28
"Oh! God isn't answering my prayers! He does not see what is going on. He has His eyes shut. His attention is riveted somewhere else..."
He knows all. He sees all. He understands all. He has heard. He is responding. But He is doing it within the framework of His creative processes not ours. He requires that we persistently keep after Him because He wants to test our faith. He wants to test the sincerity of our convictions. He wants to see whether we really want this thing that we are asking. Do we want it so much that we are willing to go after it? As He leads us through these experiences, supplies us with the very things that we need...
God is like a coach who produces winners, over-comers, victors, because He trains them, disciplines them so well in the fundamentals. Isaiah is encouraging us to turn our attention to God and His incomparable power. He is saying that there is an absurdity in thinking that God is either careless in not hearing us or incapable of doing what we ask so that we somehow think that He is disregarding our pleas.
Isaiah 40:27-28
God's normal activity involves far more mercy than justice, and we have to operate with the understanding and conviction that God owes us nothing and that He knows exactly what is going on, and that if He allows a tower to fall on my head this afternoon, I cannot claim any injustice from God. He has already given me so much mercy, it is beyond my understanding.
All of us receive injustices from the hand of men, and we do not deal anywhere near as fairly with each other as we should. We want everything in our dealings with men to go favorably for us. That is what we feel is fair. That is what Jacob is saying here.
But one thing is certain: None of us has ever received the slightest injustice from the hand of God. As we grow in understanding and humility, we begin to see that of grace we have received an overwhelming abundance.
Isaiah 40:21-31
Here God tells us clearly that there is no one like Him and that His ways are not always clearly understood by those whom He has created. But He is constantly in the process of creating, and to those who wait on Him, He gives power and constant renewal of strength to mount up with wings like eagles. What an incredible God we serve!
