You were filled and very glorious bin the midst of the seas.
Your mariners and pilots,
Your caulkers and merchandisers,
All your men of war who are in you,
And the entire company which is in your midst,
Will fall into the midst of the seas on the day of your ruin.
The mariners,
All the pilots of the sea
Will come down from their ships and stand on the1 shore.
They will cry bitterly and acast dust on their heads;
They bwill roll about in ashes;

Thy rowers - Thy governors and counsellors. Great waters - Dangers and difficulties. The east wind - The king of Babylon with his army. Hath broken - As surely will, as if he had already done it. In the midst - Where thou thoughtest thyself impregnable.
