Exodus 23:9
God instructed Moses to gently remind our ancient forbears of the priceless value of their 430 years of suffering in slavery, a horrendous experience to be sure, but one giving them a unique insight into the universal insatiable need for kindness and compassion.
Exodus 23:6-9
Every one of these principles has to do with equity—judging impartially. Even a person who was not even a citizen, a stranger, was supposed to be dealt with in a fair manner—an equitable manner—because Israel had known much oppression in Egypt.
