Futile Reliance on the Nations
I will bring them down like birds of the air;
I will chastise them
bAccording to what their congregation has heard.
Destruction to them,
Because they have transgressed against Me!
Though aI redeemed them,
Yet they have spoken lies against Me.
When they wailed upon their beds.
“They1 assemble together for grain and new bwine,
1They rebel against Me;
aThey are like a treacherous bow.
Their princes shall fall by the sword
For the bcursings of their tongue.
This shall be their derision cin the land of Egypt.

Hosea 7:13
Wo unto them! - They shall have wo, because they have fled from me. They shall have destruction, because they have transgressed against me.
Though I have redeemed them - Out of Egypt; and given them the fullest proof of my love and power.
Yet they have spoken lies against me - They have represented me as rigorous and cruel; and my service as painful and unprofitable.
