Hosea 14:7
Compare all
5 I will be like the adew to Israel;
He shall1 grow like the lily,
And1 lengthen his roots like Lebanon.
6 His branches shall1 spread;
aHis beauty shall be like an olive tree,
And bhis fragrance like Lebanon.
7 aThose who dwell under his shadow shall return;
They shall be revived like grain,
And1 grow like a vine.
Their1 scent shall be like the wine of Lebanon.
8 “Ephraim shall say, ‘What have I to do anymore with idols?’
I have heard and observed him.
I am like a green cypress tree;
aYour fruit is found in Me.”
9 Who is wise?
Let him understand these things.
Who is prudent?
Let him know them.
For athe ways of the Lord are right;
The righteous walk in them,
But transgressors stumble in them.

Hosea 14:7

They that dwell - As many as unite to the church, shall dwell under these spreading trees. Return - Revive and recover strength. As the corn - Which dies ere it lives to bring forth fruit. As the vine - Which in winter seems dead, but yet life, sap, and a fructifying virtue is in it. The scent thereof - The savour of it to God and good men shall be pleasing as the scent of the delicious wines of Lebanon.
