5 Salmon begot aBoaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse,
6 and aJesse begot David the king. bDavid the king begot Solomon by her1 who had been the wife of Uriah.
7 aSolomon begot Rehoboam, Rehoboam begot bAbijah, and Abijah begot Asa.
