Behold, your house—the temple, beyond all doubt; but their house now, not the Lord's. See on Matthew 22:7.
is left unto you desolate—deserted, that is, of its Divine Inhabitant. But who is that? Hear the next words:
36 Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.

38 See! Your house is left to you desolate;
39 for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, a‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”
