The Great Commission

14 aLater He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.
15 aAnd He said to them, “Go into all the world band preach the gospel to every creature.
16 aHe who believes and is baptized will be saved; bbut he who does not believe will be condemned.
17 And these asigns will follow those who believe: bIn My name they will cast out demons; cthey will speak with new tongues;
18 athey will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; bthey will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Christ Ascends to God’s Right Hand

Mark 16:16

He that believeth and is baptized—Baptism is here put for the external signature of the inner faith of the heart, just as "confessing with the mouth" is in Romans 10:10; and there also as here this outward manifestation, once mentioned as the proper fruit of faith, is not repeated in what follows (Romans 10:11).

shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned—These awful issues of the reception or rejection of the Gospel, though often recorded in other connections, are given in this connection only by Mark.
