The Beatitudes
a“Blessed are you poor,
For yours is the kingdom of God.
For you shall be bfilled.
cBlessed are you who weep now,
For you shall dlaugh.
And when they bexclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,
For the Son of Man’s sake.
For indeed your reward is great in heaven,
For bin like manner their fathers did to the prophets.
Jesus Pronounces Woes
For you shall hunger.
bWoe to you who laugh now,
For you shall mourn and cweep.

Luke 6:20-23
Luke 6:20-23 Blessed. These beatitudes are given more fully in Matthew 5:3-12, which see notes. Luke says "kingdom of God"; Matthew, "of heaven", showing that the two are the same.
