aAnd they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them.
aFor as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.
aBut first He must suffer many things and be brejected by this generation.
aAnd as it bwas in the cdays of dNoah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the aday that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and bdestroyed them all.
aLikewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
but on athe day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man ais revealed.
“In that day, he awho is on the housetop, and his1goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.

Luke 17:24-33
In the midst of this instruction regarding the conditions that are going to exist at the time of His return, He specifically draws attention to the awful state of unreadiness, being unprepared, that the people are going to be in then. I want you also to see that the instruction is not to the Pharisees. The instruction is to His disciples. He is warning they better be prepared because the people in the world are going to be going through their normal routines. They are not going to be prepared. They are not going to be ready. There is more than that there. He does not just say, be aware of her. He says, Remember! almost as if He is concerned that all of us, all of his disciples, are in danger of forgetting. Urgency! Was she urgent to leave? Was she ready to leave? No she was not.
