42 And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of¹ Jonah. ^aYou shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, A Stone).

Philip and Nathanael

43 The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found ^aPhilip and said to him, “Follow Me.”

44 Now ^aPhilip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

45 Philip found ^aNathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom ^bMoses in the law, and also the ^cprophets, wrote—Jesus ^dof Nazareth, the ^eson of Joseph.”

46 And Nathanael said to him, ^a“Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, “Behold, ^aan Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”

From Bethsaida (apo Bhqsaida). Same expression in John 12:21 with the added words "of Galilee," which locates it in Galilee, not in Iturea. There were two Bethsaidas, one called Bethsaida Julias in Iturea (that in Luke 9:10) or the Eastern Bethsaida, the other the Western Bethsaida in Galilee (Mark 6:45), perhaps somewhere near Capernaum. This is the town of Andrew and Peter and Philip. Hence Philip would be inclined to follow the example of his townsmen.
