<< John 18:37 John 18:39 >>
Articles, Bible studies, and sermons that contain John 18:38:
John 18:37-38
Excerpted from: Truth (Part 1)Jesus said that the very reason that He came to the earth was to bear witness, to give testimony on, and to declare truth. He further stated that anyone devoted to truth would listen to Him. That word "listen" means more than just "hear the sound of." It indicates "the use of" as well. The life of the person who is listening to Him would be characterized by submission to truth.
Truth, as it is spoken of in this context, is what we might consider to be ultimate truth—the very things which the life, the death, and the resurrection of Jesus involved. We are talking about the purpose and the plan of God. Another way of saying it is that He is talking about the true knowledge of God.
