1 Corinthians 6:7
Compare all
5 I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren?
6 But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers!
7 Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. aWhy do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated?
8 No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brethren!
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. aNeither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor1 homosexuals, nor sodomites,

1 Corinthians 6:7

I Corinthians 6:7 There is utterly a fault among you. It was a fault ("loss" or "defeat" in the Greek) to go to law at all. It was better rather take wrong . . . rather to be defrauded, than to work so great an injury to the church by the ill-feeling aroused, and by the scandal in the eyes of the heathen. The rule is, then, (1) To suffer wrong rather than to go to law. (2) If an adjudication is required, to refer to the case, not to unbelieving judges, but to a "wise man" within the church. For other Scriptures bearing on the subject, see I Peter 2:23 Mt 5:40 1Pe 2:19 Pr 20:22.
