1 Corinthians 10:14
Compare all
12 Therefore alet him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but aGod is faithful, bwho will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to1 bear it.

Flee from Idolatry

14 Therefore, my beloved, aflee from idolatry.
15 I speak as to awise men; judge for yourselves what I say.
16 aThe cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the1 communion of the blood of Christ? bThe bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17 For awe, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.

Articles, Bible studies, and sermons that contain 1 Corinthians 10:14:

I Corinthians 10:14-15

What is he doing here? He is showing a general pattern of the way that he operates. We could use the entire book of I Corinthians—where he appeals to people through strong spiritual arguments and reasoning. He teaching was strong and clear, but it was not dictatorial. He pleads with these people to think—to use their minds, to use the knowledge of God, of the Word of God. And to see if, indeed, the reasons and arguments that he was giving to these people were correct. "I speak as to wise men; judge for yourself what I say."

I Corinthians 10:14-15

"Judge for yourselves." He is appealing to their reason. His teaching was strong and clear, but it was not dictatorial. He appeals to them with strong spiritual arguments and logic. He appeals to them to think.
