1 Corinthians 16:17
Compare all
15 I urge you, brethren—you know athe household of Stephanas, that it is bthe firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to cthe ministry of the saints—
16 athat you also submit to such, and to everyone who works and blabors with us.
17 I am glad about the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus, afor what was lacking on your part they supplied.
18 aFor they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore backnowledge such men.

Greetings and a Solemn Farewell

19 The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, awith the church that is in their house.

1 Corinthians 16:17

Fortunatus . . . Achaicus—probably of Stephanas' household.

that . . . lacking on your part—So far as you were unable yourselves to "refresh my spirit," in that you are absent from me, "they have supplied" by coming to me from you, and so supplying the means of intercourse between you and me. They seem to have carried this letter back; see the subscription below: hence the exhortations, I Corinthians 16:16, I Corinthians 16:18, as though they would be at Corinth when the Epistle arrived.
