Light Bearers

12 Therefore, my beloved, aas you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, bwork out your own salvation with cfear and trembling;
13 for ait is God who works in you both to will and to do bfor His good pleasure.
14 Do all things awithout complaining and bdisputing,
15 that you may become blameless and1 harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as alights in the world,
16 holding fast the word of life, so that aI may rejoice in the day of Christ that bI have not run in vain or labored in cvain.
17 Yes, and if aI am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice band service of your faith, cI am glad and rejoice with you all.

Philippians 2:12-16

So the Father and the Son gave everything to make our redemption possible, so we must likewise go all out, give our all to grow in righteousness and holiness. What I am saying here is, just to put it another way, is that between now and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, we must participate fully in our sanctification. We cannot wish holiness upon us, we cannot hope that we will be made better without actually participating in the process, getting rid of old habits that are sinful, putting on new habits that conform to the character of Jesus Christ. Paul says this in Philippians 2. I am going to go and read that one.

Philippians 2:14-15

Become children of God without fault. That is where we are headed. We are already saved. All He wants us to do it yield to the process, in which the product is love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, meekness, and self-control, as well as all those other qualities that are a part of Him. That is the salvation that is being worked out.

Philippians 2:14-15

Wow! All things! Now all of us can do some things without griping, but none of us can do all things without griping and yet the standard is right there.
