Colossians 3:24
Compare all
22 aBondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.
23 aAnd whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,
24 aknowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; bfor you serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and athere is no partiality.

Colossians 3:24

Ye shall receive (apolhmyesqe). Future middle indicative of apolambanw, old verb, to get back (apo), to recover.

The recompense (antapodosin). "The full recompense," old word, in LXX, but only here in N.T., but antapodoma twice (Luke 14:12; Romans 11:9). Given back (apo) in return (anti).

Ye serve the Lord Christ (to Kuriw Xristw douleuete). As his slaves and gladly so. Perhaps better as imperatives, keep on serving.
