I Thessalonians 3:5
Now Satan is referred to as the tempter in I Thessalonians 3:5, and Paul was concerned that the tempter had tempted the Thessalonian believers, and so he has written this down and we have it for us today. Satan is the great author of persecution.
In a time of persecution or of trial of any kind, he tries to tempt us to turn from the truth and to abandon God's way of life. In persecution, we are tempted to abandon our loyalty and dedication to God to avoid suffering.
