Hebrews 2:7

The Son Made Lower than Angels

5 For He has not put ^athe world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels.

6 But one testified in a certain place, saying:
^a“What is man that You are mindful of him,
Or the son of man that You take care of him?

7 You have made him¹ a little lower than the angels;
You have crowned him with glory and honor,
¹And set him over the works of Your hands.

8 ^aYou have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now ^bwe do not yet see all things put under him.

9 But we see Jesus, ^awho was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death ^bcrowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death ^cfor everyone.

Bringing Many Sons to Glory

10 For it was fitting for Him, ^afor whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation ^bperfect through sufferings.

If you will, turn over to Hebrews 2, verse 5, please. Think of us in relation to the angels. The angels are wonderful beings. They excel in strength, but we are destined for a position that would be above the angels. In the apostle Paul's epistle to the Hebrews, he writes,
So these words show that we are already in that position in God's sight; we may not yet see it, but it is true of us now that we will see.
Now we are as good as above the angels because we are the betrothed bride of Christ, and as He is above them in the heavenly places, we have that dignity already now. We will have the full dignity of it when we are the actual bride of Christ, but right now we are the betrothed bride of Christ waiting for that marriage supper that is going to probably be the greatest celebration in the history of the universe and beyond. It is going to be important to God, and He is going to take some time having that marriage. It is not going to be just in the blink of an eye.

Hebrews 2:6-8

We have to "give the more earnest heed" so that we don't lose sight of the things that were given to us. And what was given to us? The essence of it is given in verse 6.

That's what we heard! We heard about our future. We heard the "good news" of the world tomorrow. We heard the "good news" of inheriting the Kingdom of God. We heard the "good news" that we are going to be very God—we are going to be God as God is God. Not as great as He is—in authority, wisdom, or intelligence, etc. We will NEVER catch up to Him. But we still are going to be GOD.
