1 Peter 5:8
Compare all
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
8 Be1 sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
10 But1 may the God of all grace, awho called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while,3 perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
11 aTo Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Farewell and Peace

12 By aSilvanus, our faithful brother as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying bthat this is the true grace of God in which you stand.

I Peter 5:8-10

Here, Peter is verifying that we have an enemy and we are in the middle of a spiritual battle. And he is telling us that we need to be inspired by God to trust Him, to rely upon, have our faith in Him, that we might survive.
