2 For ^atrue and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He ^bhas avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.”

3 Again they said, “Alleluia! ^aHer smoke rises up forever and ever!”

4 And ^athe twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, ^b“Amen! Alleluia!”

5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, ^a“Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, ^bboth small and great!”

6 ^aAnd I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For ^bthe Lord God Omnipotent reigns!

7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for ^athe marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”

Revelation 19:4

And the four and twenty elders, and the four living creatures felt down - The living creatures are nearer the throne than the elders. Accordingly they are mentioned before them, with the praise they render to God, Revelation 4:9-10; Revelation 5:8, Revelation 5:14; inasmuch as there the praise moves from the centre to the circumference. But here, when God's judgments are fulfilled, it moves back from the circumference to the centre. Here, therefore, the four and twenty elders are named before the living creatures.
