Leviticus 27:21
Compare all
19 And if he who dedicates the field ever wishes to redeem it, then he must add one-fifth of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall belong to him.
20 But if he does not want to redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed anymore;
21 but the field, awhen it is released in the Jubilee, shall be holy to the Lord, as a bdevoted field; it shall be cthe possession of the priest.
22 ‘And if a man dedicates to the Lord a field which he has bought, which is not the field of ahis possession,
23 then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your valuation, up to the Year of Jubilee, and he shall give your valuation on that day as a holy offering to the Lord.

Leviticus 27:21

When it goeth out - That is, out of the possession of the other man to whom the priest sold it. The possession shall be the priests - For their maintenance. Nor is this repugnant to that law, that the priests should have no inheritance in the land, Numbers 18:20, for that is only spoken of, the tribe of Levi in general, in reference to the first division of the land, wherein the Levites were not to have a distinct part of land, as other tribes had; but this doth not hinder, but some particular lands might be vowed and given to the priests, either for their own benefit, or for the service of the sanctuary.
