Numbers 28:16-19

There is no sacrifice specified for the Passover except the lamb. I mean, the lamb that they slaughtered at their own home!

Conspicuous by its absence here in Numbers 28—right in the midst of detailed instructions for all the required tabernacle/temple sacrifices—there is nothing (zilch, zero) mentioned for the Passover. That is because God never intended any Passover sacrifice to be made at the tabernacle, or temple. Nowhere in the Pentateuch, the first five books, is there a command to sacrifice any Passover lamb—specifically for Passover—at the tabernacle.

The Passover was intended by God to be a domestically killed sacrifice and a domestically observed festival. Did you notice that there was not "a holy convocation" even suggested? No command to get together for a church service in this, because they were at home. They observed it at home.

Let us turn now to Numbers 28. This just confirms what we just read. I just want us to see that God is consistent. Numbers 28 is giving us a listing of all of the sacrifices that were to be made during the holy days and the weekly Sabbath.

It is not until after the end that the mention of unleavened bread comes into the picture, and it is in conjunction with that which occurs on the 15th. And now verse 18. Here comes a first day:

Two different days! There's still a possibility maybe that one might be able to think, "Well, Passover was at night, and the first day of Unleavened Bread was at night. Maybe they just took place a few hours apart." But, again, remember what we just said. You can't do two things at the same time—stay in your house until morning, and leave by night.

Numbers 28:16-17

In Deuteronomy 16:3, he says the same thing. The scriptures are very clear. We are to eat unleavened bread seven days and that typifies taking in the Word of God.
