The meaning of Bayith in the Bible
(From International Standard Bible Encyclopedia)

ba'-yith (bayith; the King James Version Bajith, "house" (Isaiah 15:2)): A town in the country of Moab. The reading of the Revised Version, margin, "Bayith and Dibon are gone up to the high places to weep," seems to be the proper rendering of this passage. Duhm et al., by changing the text, read either "house of" or "daughter of." The construct of this word beth is frequently used in compound words.

See BETH.
