The meaning of Jemuel in the Bible
(From International Standard Bible Encyclopedia)je-mu'-el (yemu'el, meaning unknown): A "son" of Simeon (Genesis 46:10; Exodus 6:15) = "Nemuel" in Numbers 26:12; I Chronicles 4:24.
The Syriac version has "Jemuel" in the 4 passages, but Gray (H P N, 307, note 6) thinks "Jemuel" is more probably a correction in Gen. than "Nemuel" in Numbers.
