The meaning of Joram in the Bible
(From International Standard Bible Encyclopedia)

jo'-ram (yoram, "Yahweh is exalted"; compare JEHORAM):

(1) Son of Toi (or Tou, according to Septuagint, Codex Vaticanus, and I Chronicles 18:9-10), sent by his father to greet David (II Samuel 8:10) = "Hadoram" (I Chronicles 18:9-10) a form preferred by commentators in 2Sa. also.

(2) Same as Jehoram, king of Judah (II Kings 8:21-24; II Kings 11:2; I Chronicles 3:11; Matthew 1:8 Ioram).

(3) Same as Jehoram, king of Northern Israel (II Kings 8:29; compare II Kings 9:15 the Revised Version margin).

(4) (In form yoram): A Levite (I Chronicles 26:25).

(5) (Ioram, 1 Esdras 1:9) = "Jozabad" (II Chronicles 35:9); see JOZABAD (4).
