What the Bible says about Apostle John
(From Forerunner Commentary)

1 John 1:2

John is writing to people who did not have this privilege. Why? People were saying that John did not know what he was talking about. "Oh, he is almost a hundred years old. He is senile. He can hardly hear any more. His eyes are dim. He can hardly write, he is so shaky." They looked upon him physically, and he lost his credibility with them. Because they were walking by sight rather than by faith (II Corinthians 5:7), they criticized him. John counters, "Where is your authority to match this?"
