What the Bible says about Righteousness, Pursuing

Psalm 11:3 The answer to David's question is that we must do the same thing that the righteous have always done: Be righteous. Obey God's commandments. When adversity comes, we cannot allow ourselves to abandon all we have learned as Christians and fight back with the carnality we worked so hard to overcome. As the apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 4:26, we can “be angry, [but] not sin.” We cannot let exterior turmoil derail our progress toward the Kingdom of God. Luke 12:15 The apostle Paul tells Timothy that "godliness with contentment is great gain" and that, instead of possessions, we should be pursuing righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. Paul learned to be content in whatever state he was in (Philippians 4:11). Jesus Christ set our primary goal as seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). The inevitable result of doing this will be wonderful blessings and eternal life. Martin G.
