23 And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’
24 Yes, and aall the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also1 foretold these days.  
25 aYou are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, b‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’  
26 To you afirst, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, bin turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”

Acts 3:25

Ye are the children . . . of the covenant—and so the natural heirs of its promises.

in thy seed, etc.—(See on Galatians 3:8, etc.).



Acts 3:22-26

a prophet . . . like unto me—particularly in intimacy of communication with God (Numbers 12:6-8), and as the mediatorial Head of a new order of things (Hebrews 3:2-6). Peter takes it for granted that, in the light of all he had just said, it would be seen at once that One only had any claim to be that Prophet.

him shall ye hear in all things, etc.—This part of the prediction is emphatically added, in order to shut up the audience to the obedience of faith, on pain of being finally "cut off" from the congregation of the righteous (Psalms 1:1).
