What the Bible says about Sennacherib's Military Might
(From Forerunner Commentary)

2 Kings 19:23-24

These verses use flowery language and picturesque wording to help us to understand that nothing stood in Sennacherib's way. He mowed everything down. The problem is that Sennacherib became conceited about it all. He thought he was doing this by his own military brilliance and by the power of his armaments.

2 Kings 19:25

"Hey, Sennacherib," says God, "I was the one who gave you the victories. I was the one who raised you up and decided that these other cities needed to be humbled. I was the one who enabled you to do these things. You didn't do this by your own power. It wasn't your military brilliance; it wasn't the power of your armaments. It was because I made it possible for you to do it."
