28 Therefore we conclude ^athat a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.

29 Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also,

30 since ^athere is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.

If so be that God is one (eiper eiv o qeov). Correct text rather than epeiper. It means "if on the whole." "By a species of rhetorical politeness it is used of that about which there is no doubt" (Thayer. Cf. I Corinthians 8:5; I Corinthians 15:15; Romans 8:9.

By faith (ek pistewv). "Out of faith," springing out of.

Through faith (dia thv pistewv). "By means of the faith" (just mentioned). Ek denotes source, dia intermediate agency or attendant circumstance.
